Diversey Buys Chemical-Free Cleaner

Jan/san vendor Diversey has agreed to buy cleaning products brand Twister from private equity firm Polaris.

Twister – which is headquartered in Söderköping, Sweden – is the maker of a chemical-free floor cleaning system which uses pads impregnated with billions of microscopic diamonds.

The technology reportedly reduces the cost of daily cleaning by up to 50%.

The company was bought by Polaris back in 2013 as part of its takeover of HTC Sweden. It has subsidiaries in the UK and the US, and has more than doubled both sales and profit while in the ownership of Polaris.

The acquisition expands Diversey’s portfolio away from chemical solutions, and the company says it allows for better integration between its other offerings at the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) to its global customers.

Financial details were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close this month.
