After 32 years of service, West Division Vice President, Greg Nissen, has retired from S.P. Richards Company. Greg began his career as a sales representative and successfully climbed the ranks to General Manager of the St. Louis DC before heading west to help the company grow its new Sacramento market. Later elevated to the position of Division VP, Greg played a prominent role in growing SPR's Pacific footprint.

As Division VP, Greg has been a team player and has seen his distribution centers earn five DC of the Year awards, including Denver (2002), Sacramento (2005, 2015) and Los Angeles (2009, 2016). He also earned the very prestigious "Manager of the Year" for all of Genuine Parts Company.

Rick May will step into Greg's position. Rick began his career with Dow Chemical, rising from account manager to a global sales and marketing position. He joined SPR in 2004 as the Division Sales & Marketing Director for the West and South Central Divisions where he demonstrated his ability to build a solid sales team. Rick went on to manage the Phoenix DC, then moved into the newly-created Director of Sales position for the West in 2013.

Since 2015, Rick has been the General Manager of SPR's largest DC in Los Angeles. His leadership there culminated in Los Angeles being recognized as the DC of the Year for 2016. Rick will now bring his team- and consensus-building approach to the entire West Division.

Jim O'Brien, SVP of Operations, commented on the transition, "Greg put us on the map out west and he will be missed. We wish him and his family the very best in the years ahead." He added, "Please join me in wishing Rick and his family all the best as they enter this new chapter of their lives." (S.P. Richards Company)
